Snapped Stone (commonly referred to as chopped stone) is natural stone that has been broken or “snapped” along one or more edges to produce a roughly rectangular appearance. Depending on project requirements, snapped edges can be pitched or thermaled to produce a more natural surface. |

Building stone is usually snapped to a nominal thickness of 4”, 6”, or 8”. Face sizes (length and height) vary and can be specifid, to some degree, by the customer. Snapped Building Stone covers an average of 35 to 40 square feet per ton. Recommended footing width is 10” (measuring from the face of the unfinished wall). |

Snapped Veneer and Snapped Veneer Corners average approximately 1 3/4” in thickness with a variance of +/- 1/4”. Snapped Veneer covers approximately 100 to 110 square feet per ton when laid flat and approximately 20 to 25 square feet per ton when laid on edge. Recommended footing width for Snapped Veneer is 4” when laid flat and 10” when laid on edge (measuring from the face of the unfinished wall).
